Energy Assessments for Businesses

An energy assessment helps businesses identify inefficiencies, cut energy waste, and lower costs. It provides a clear strategy for improving energy efficiency, reducing carbon emissions, and accessing grants for upgrades.

A key part of the process is the Building Energy Rating (BER) Certificate, which rates a building’s energy efficiency from A1 (best) to G (worst). Businesses with higher ratings benefit from lower bills, increased property value, and improved workplace comfort.

Who Can Apply for the Solar Grant in Ireland?

The assessment includes a site inspection to evaluate insulation, heating, cooling, lighting, and ventilation. A detailed report outlines cost-saving recommendations, such as upgrading insulation, switching to LED lighting, or integrating solar energy. A BER assessment is also required for businesses installing solar PV or applying for SEAI grants, which offer up to €200 toward assessments.

Beyond financial savings, energy audits help businesses comply with Ireland’s 2030 carbon reduction targets and strengthen corporate sustainability commitments. Improving energy efficiency also enhances employee comfort and the overall value of commercial properties.
